James Cook brings over a decade of experience in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, martial arts, and education to Dandelion Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. As an accomplished educator with a Doctorate in Education (Ed.D), James combines his passion for teaching with his extensive martial arts background to foster a learning environment that emphasizes personal growth, resilience, and community.
In his BJJ career, James has achieved significant milestones, including being a two-time Reality Fighter Super Fight winner and an IBJJF medalist at both the New Haven and New York Opens, earning accolades at the prestigious brown and black belt levels. His expertise and dedication were further recognized with invitations to the highly regarded Polaris Trials in Wales, England, and the BJJ Fanatics Brown Belt Invitational. Additionally, James is an undefeated MMA fighter, competing in the XCP promotion and showcasing his versatility and skill across multiple disciplines.
Beyond his competition record, James’ experience as an educator allows him to create a thoughtful and structured learning approach, helping students of all backgrounds discover their potential on and off the mat.
